BRIEF HISTORY
In the 1990’s, Queer Theory has emerged
as an influential mode of thought in the ongoing
debate about empowerment issues. Queer Theory is
concerned with the non-essentializing nature of
sexual identities and is premised on the notion of
resistance to forms of domination, such as
heterosexism and homophobia. The historical roots
of Queer Theory are traced from the homosexual
rights movement through the Gay Liberation
Movement.

“I love you, Mike” It started with Benjie confessing his
love for Mike, who is a handsome journalist and
modeled a macho body and butt. Joana kept asking
Benjie if he had notice Mike. Benjie and Mike met at
that media party. It was their first trip together as a
team Still, Joana kept asking Mike questions beyond
work matters. Mike and Benjie was close then they
kept drinking and talking about anything and
everything. Then Mike introduced Carmi his ex-
girlfriend to Benjie who literally said that Carmi is the
combination of Dawn Zuleta and Nanette Medved

After seeing them Benjie felt like he was an excess
luggage and that felt sad because he felt that Mike
was still in-love with Carmi. Mike was really stressed
and disappointed because he needs to finish his
works and his diskette was infected by a virus and
her sister was victimized by the Akyat-Bahay gang
and lastly Carmi called him because she was leaving
for the States. Mike decided to go to Benjie’s house
and drink and they cuddled up in bed, he hugged
Benjie tight feeling the his warmth and comfort.

Out of no where Benjie kissed Mike before they fell
asleep. After the kiss happened Benjie and Mike are
not meeting each other and drinking like before but
one night Mike offered for a drink which Benjie said
yes and they drank beer and this is where Benjie
opened up that his Nanay died so sudden that he
doesn’t know what to do anymore without her.They
were on their way back home to Manila when Benjie
suddenly said that he was sorry for saying that he
loved Mike on that bar and that he was expecting
more than just a friend

and that he was beyond his limits, which Mike said
that there was nothing wrong about it and that they
are better of as friend or so he thought. Benjie was
minding his own business trying to recall what had
happened. The bus was moving fast on North
Diversion Road, Benjie was looking outside the
window then suddenly Mike held his hand and gently
squeezed it. Mike thought “What if I am also gay? I
am not sure. But, does it matter?”
