Convolution
NEED OF CONVOLUTION OPERATION

• It relates the three signals of interest: the input signal, the output signal, and the impulse
response. It is a formal mathematical operation, just as multiplication, addition, and
integration.

• There's not particularly any "physical" meaning to the convolution operation. The main use
of convolution is to describe the output of a linear, time-invariant (LTI) system. The output of
an LTI system for any input signal 𝑥(𝑡) can be expressed as the convolution of the input
signal with the system's impulse response.
