Evaluations with adjectives and nouns

• Objective:

Talk about evaluations and comparisons using adjectives


and nouns to describe things.

• Structure:

1. Enough goes after the adjective (adjective + enough)


2. Enough goes before the noun (enough + noun)
3. Too always goes before the adjective (too + adjective)
Examples:

• The apartment isn’t big enough bedroom.


• Houses don’t have enough closets.
• Apartments are too small for pets.
Exercises:

• The bathroom is too old.


• The house has enough bedrooms.
• Downtown is too dangerous at night.
• Kindergarten are too noisy
• Your cars aren’t clean enough.
Comparisons with adjectives and nouns

• Objective:

• Structure:

as + adjective + as
as many + count noun + as
as much + nouncount noun + as
Examples:

• Houses are as convenients as apartments


• Apartments don’t have as many expenses as houses.
• Jouses don’t have as much privacy as apartments.
Exercises:
Wish

• Objective:

Formulate sentences when we would like the reality


to be different

• Structure:

pronoun + wish + pronoun + were /weren’t + complement


Examples:

• I wish I had a car


• I wish I could fly
• I wish I weren’t tired
Exercises:

• My house isn’t very nice. I wish it were more attractive.


• It costs a lot to live here. I wish it weren`t so expensive
• My landlord won’t call me back. I wish hed return my calls
• I have noisy neighbors. I wish I could find a good roommate
• I don’t like living alone. I wish I could afford a car.
• The buses don’t run very often. I wish their music weren’t so loud
