THE WONDERS OF

THE USA

WHY AM I TALKING ABOUT THIS
SUBJECT?
• I decided to talk about this subject because the USA is a big country full
of beautiful places to visit but most of the people visit only the most
popular cities, without seeing the other beauties of the country because
they are less known
• I am going to show you some lesser known cities you should visit, with
attractions and fun facts.
HOUSTON
• Houston is the most populous city in the U.S state of Texas.
• One of the attractions in Houston is the Houston Livestock show and
Rodeo, which is one of the biggest rodeos in the world. This month-long
rodeo attracts over 2.5 million attendees each year.
• Fun fact: Residents in Houston eat out more times a week than in any
other city in America. It might be because the average meal costs less than
the national average, or it can be because Houston has some of the most
delicious foods and restaurants

PHILADELPHIA
• Philadelphia is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
• Philadelphia is known for being rich in American history; one of the most
important pieces of American history is the Liberty Bell. The bell was created in
1753 and has been cracked when it rung after its arrival. ”.
• It was first used to call lawmakers to their meetings and the townspeople together
to hear the reading of the news. It's not until the 1830's that the old State House
bell would begin to take on significance as a symbol of liberty
• Fun fact: there is another Liberty Bell called “Freedom Bell” in Washington D.C
The message on the
bell says "Proclaim
Liberty throughout
all the land unto all
the inhabitants
thereof."

ATLANTA
• Atlanta is a city from Georgia.
• Atlanta was the only city burned down in the Civil War. During the
Civil War, Atlanta’s residents were asked to evacuate the city before
the Union soldiers arrived to defeat the Confederate Army. As a
result of this fight, the city was destroyed by fire.
• Fun Fact: Atlanta is home to two Nobel Peace Prize winners. The
two Nobel Peace Prize winners that call Atlanta home are Martin
Luther King Jr. and President Jimmy Carter.

SAVANNAH
• Savannah is the oldest city in the U.S. state of Georgia and is the county
seat of Chatham County
• Each year Savannah attracts millions of visitors to its cobblestone streets,
parks, and notable historic buildings
• Savannah's downtown area, which includes the Savannah Historic District,
the Savannah Victorian Historic District, and 22 park-like squares, is one
of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the United States.
SAVANNAH
• Fun Fact: Savannah may look like a sweet Southern belle, but she keeps a
dark secret. The city was built, literally, on its dead. Homes and buildings
sit atop Native American burial grounds; roads cover forgotten cemeteries
of slaves and colonialists. Over the years, bloody battles, massive fires,
yellow-fever epidemics, and hurricanes have taken hundreds of lives,
leaving behind unsettled spirits

SALT LAKE CITY
• Salt Lake City is the religious center of the Mormons and capital of the state of
Utah.
• There are many places to visit in Salt Lake City, but the one that stands out the
most is the Liberty Park. The Liberty Park is the oldest and most prominent park
in Utah. Since its beginning in 1882, Liberty Park has been a favorite open space
retreat for thousands of people who have enjoyed its beautiful trees, shrubs and
clean mountain air
• Fun fact: The city is called after the Great Salt Lake because it is very
close to it
