Project Description:

 Solar Operated Lawn Grass Cutter

 Our project is a battery powered automatic lawn
mower
 Initially the user will wirelessly control the
mower along a desired path and the mower will
record the movements in order to later replicate
them autonomously
 It will have a solar powered charging station that
will act as the starting and ending point of the
mowing process
Function List:
 Mower will have the ability to be controlled
remotely
 It will be able to store the desired mowing path in
memory
 It will have wheels that control forward and
backward movement as well as turning
 Wireless interaction between mower, base
station, and control unit
 Solar power to large battery to mower batteries
 Automatic shut-off if it tips over.
Problem Identification:
 A lawn mower is a machine that uses a
revolving blade or blades to cut a lawn at an
even height.
 Lawn mowers employing a blade that rotates
about a vertical axis are known as rotary
mowers, while those employing a blade
assembly that rotates about a horizontal axis are
known as cylinder or reel mowers.

Solar panel:
 Solar energy is
generally present in
the form of solar
irradiance.
 The PV cell works
in the principle of
Photoelectric effect;
light striking on
solar cell is
converted to electric
energy.
Microcontroller:
 It is a smaller computer
 Has on-chip RAM, ROM, I/O ports
 8K Bytes of In-System Programmable (ISP)
Flash Memory
 4.0V to 5.5V Operating Range
 Fully Static Operation: 0 Hz to 33 MHz
 256 x 8-bit Internal RAM
 32 Programmable I/O Lines
 Three 16-bit Timer/Counters
 Eight Interrupt Sources
Block diagram of at89s51:

• The Atmel Corp. has a

wide selection of 8051
chips.
• For example, the
AT89S51 is a popular
and inexpensive chip
used in many small
projects.
Hardware Requirements:
 DC motor
 RF Modulator
 Resistors
 Capacitors
 Sensor
Sensor:
 Ultrasonic sensor
is a sensor that
uses ultrasonic
sound to detect
range or distance
of an object.
 This sensor can
also act as a sensor
to detect present or
absent of an
object.

Software Requirements:
 Kiel Compiler
 Language: Embedded C or Assembly.
SOLAR SYSTEM FUEL SYSTEM

1. Totally free from pollution 1. Pollution is a great factor

2. Fuel are compulsory

2. No fuel consumption
3. No. of reciprocating parts are
3. No. of reciprocating parts more
are less
4. Frictions between the parts are
4. Friction is greatly reduced high

5. Low cast and maintenance 5. Maintenance is difficult &

costly
6. Ratio of speed reduction 6. Speed reduction ratio is less
more when weight increases and it does not vary
very much

COMPER WITH FUEL

Advantage:
 Compact size and portable
 Easy to move from one place to another place
 Operating principle is simple.
 Non-skilled person also operate this machine
Limitation:

 Large time required to remove the grass

 Manually operated
 Difficult to operate in rainy seasons
Application:

 For cricket ground.

 The football ground.
 All garden.
 All Playground.
