‘Mongolia’ and set the City to ‘Ulan Bator’
2. Scroll down to Show Advanced Settings Key Assumptions for the
Base Case. Change Fuel Used for Space Heating to ‘Natural Gas’
3. Go to the Energy page, select the following individually:
a) OFE11 - Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) System
b) OFE14 - Ground Source Heat Pump + OFE16 -Radiant Cooling and Heating
System
c) OFE21 - Sensible Heat Recovery from Exhaust Air
d) OFE22 - High-Efficiency Condensing Boiler for Space Heating
e) OFE23 - Air Economizers During Favorable Outdoor Conditions
4. Record the resultant Final Energy Use and Energy Savings % for each
change
5. Unselect any selected measures on the Energy Page
6. Set the Location back to Jakarta

TASK M4.3 SOLAR PV
Record changes in Energy Use and Savings
1. Select OFE30 - Solar Photovoltaics and change the “% of Annual Electricity Use” to
the following values:
a) 10%
b) 20%
c) 100%
2. Assuming that a PV panel rated 1 kWp will cover 10 m 2 in area, estimate the roof
area required for each of the above options.
3. Does the building have enough roof area to meet 20% of the net electricity? If not,
on the Energy page, select all of the following (cumulatively):
a) OFE01 - Reduced Window-to-Wall Ratio (WWR) of 30%
b) OFE04 - External Shading Devices (AASF) of 0.58
c) OFE10 - Ceiling Fans for Office Spaces
d) OFE13 - Air Conditioning with Water-Cooled Chiller
e) OFE24 - Energy-Saving Light Bulbs - Internal Spaces
f) OFE29 - Daylight Photoelectric Sensors for Internal Spaces

4. Go back to OFE30 - Solar Photovoltaics and check if the roof area is sufficient for
20% of Annual Electricity Use. If the entire roof area is available for PVs, what % of
Annual Electricity Use can be generated?
5. Record the resultant Final Energy Use and Energy Savings % for each change.
6. Unselect all measures on the Design Page

c) OFW03 - Water-Efficient Urinals in All Other Bathrooms - 2

d) OFW04 - Water-Efficient Faucets for Kitchen Sinks - 4 L/min

TASK M5.3 MATERIALS
Record changes in Materials Use and Savings

1. Go to the Materials page. Under OFM01* Floor Slabs, choose


the following options, individually:
a) In-situ Concrete with > 30% PFA (Pulverized Fly Ash)
b) Concrete Filler Slab
Default is: In-situ reinforced Concrete Slab
2. On the Materials page, under OFM03* External Walls, choose
the following slab options, individually:
a) Cellular Light Weight Concrete Blocks
b) Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks
Default is: Common Brick Wall with Internal and External Plaster
3. Record the resultant Final Energy Use and Energy Saving %
for each change.
4. Reset the materials to default values.
