Expressionism

movement of the 20th century.
Expressionist artists sought to
express the meaning of "being
alive" and emotional experience
rather than physical reality.
Pop Art
•art based on modern popular
culture and the mass media,
especially as a critical or ironic
comment on traditional fine art
values.
Surrealism
•Surrealism is a modern
movement in art and
literature that tries to
express the subconscious
mind.
Art Nouveau
• is a style of decoration and
architecture that was
common in the 1890s. It is
characterized by flowing lines
and patterns of flowers and
leaves.
Dadaism
•A European artistic and literary
movement (1916-1923) that flouted
conventional aesthetic and cultural
values by producing works marked
by nonsense, travesty, and
incongruity.
Minimalism
• describes movements in various forms
of art and design, especially
visual art and music, where the work is
set out to expose the essence, essentials
or identity of a subject through
eliminating all non-essential forms,
features or concepts.
