dimensional quality.
• It has been used by many artist such as
Van Gogh and Rembrandt.

dripping, or whisking the paint from a
brush.

• Hard edge painters gained prominence
because they placed importance on the
crisp, precise edges of the shapes in
their paintings.
• Their works contain smooth surfaces,
hard edges, pure colors (low opacity),
and simple geometric shapes.

• It imitates the style of painting of late
19th-early to 20th century Impressionism.
• The paint can either be applied in
dabbing motion or brushed.
• The exact positioning of the dabbed
brushstrokes is sometimes hit and miss.

that the Palette knife does not add color,
it just smears the colors that are already
present, including any background color.
