Introduction

 The history of online games dates back to the early days of packet-based computer networking in the 1970s.
 Commercial games followed in the next decade, with island of kesmai, the first
commercial online role-playing game.
 During the 1990s, online games started to move from a wide variety of LAN protocols
(such as IPX) and onto the Internet using the TCP/IP protocol.
 According to the Recent Studies, Online game addiction may result in students dropping
out of school.
Advantages of Playing Online games

 Online gaming makes the kid sharper and mentally more active. The games generally
have various levels or missions to be completed in limited times.
 Mind and hand coordination. This is one of the main and important advantages that the
kids experience while playing online games.
 Kids tend to become socially active, as they interact and play with
complete strangers online. It helps them in their social life too.
 Even though gaming has some drawbacks, parents can still protect their
kids from becoming victims to online attacks.
Disadvantages of Playing Online
Games

 Internet is an open place where you can access a vast amount of


information. Kids may download games from less reputed sites. As a result,
they end up downloading spam, viruses, malicious software etc.
 Some people out there are always trying to find ways to take undue
advantage of kids. Kids are fooled and cheated and can also be abused
and harassed online.
 If there are excessive playing of online games it can affect the child in
negative ways such as cause problems to health and mind tensions.
PUBG-Online Viral game

 PUBG game full form is Players unknown battleground.


 It is an online multiplayer battle royale game developed and published
by PUBG corporation, a subsidairy of South Korean video game
company Blue Hole.
 In the game up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and
scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting
killed themselves.
 Battlegrounds was first released for Microsoft Windows via Steam's early
access beta program in March 2017, with a full release on December 20,
2017.
Bad effects of PUBG Game

 Jammu and Kashmir Students Association in India going as far as to say


addiction to the game PUBG Mobile is worse than drug addiction.
 Students Association is blaming PUBG Mobile for students’ poor
performance in school, and that is part of the reason why it is calling for an
outright ban of the game.
 In countries like Nepal and many other countries Government has banned
Pubg Mobile Due to its addiction on students.
 A 19-year-old man, who was arrested for allegedly killing his parents and
sister, was addicted to online battle game Pubg Mobile.
Blue whale suicide game

 In November 2015, a Russian teenager posted a selfie with the caption "nya bye" before
committing suicide; her death was then discussed in internet forums and groups,
becoming mixed with scare stories and folklore.
 The origin of the name "Blue Whale" is uncertain. Some reports say that it comes from a
song by the Russian rock band Lumen.
 The game is said to run on different social media platforms and is described as a
relationship between an administrator and participant.
 Throughout 2017, media in India reported several cases of child suicide, self-harm and
attempted suicide alleged to be a result of Blue Whale.
Government Regulation on online
Games

 Although steps have been taken by governments to address factors that


contribute to the development of addiction to online games, most are not
highly effective.
 Governments are obliged to take additional steps to curb online game
addiction.
 One effective preventive solution could be adopting “curfews,” which
prevent children under certain age levels from playing online games
overnight.
 In South Korean, the National Assembly is considering adopting a similar
curfew that would automatically block online game connections at
midnight.
Major research on the study

 Many previous studies have been only general investigation of online


game addiction, such as the characteristics of addiction, potential causes
of addiction, and negative consequences of addiction.
 There are several key areas where future research on government
regulations and laws on online game addiction are likely to be fruitful.
 Researching the shortcomings of current regulations and laws should be a
focus for future research.
 The increasing popularity of numerous social network sites (SNS), such as
Facebook, Twitter, and mySpace, has led to behaviors similar to those
displayed by online game addicts.
Overview of the Study

 Online gaming is one the fastest growing trend in today's generation.


Keeping kids in mind, it is both useful as well as harmful for them.
 It is not advisable to keep them totally away from gaming. You could be
doing them more harm than good, by banning them from playing games
online.
 Parents and school should give education to students regards when to
and how much to play online games.
 As per the government is regarded they should ban the gaming sites at a
certain period of time that can help the addiction of game to reduce.
