Maya Brief 2 - Set Design: Making the

Scene - ‘Pipeline’.

Moving forward then started to construct

the scene so that it has all the prior
modelled elements within the scene. To do
this I imported the Barn, Chicken Coop,
Fence and extra scene dressings to the
layout of the scene (As in the following
slides).
Adding the Ground Plane,
Chicken Coop and Fence to
the scene
Adding the scene dressings
to the shot - Bucket and
Trees.
Adding the scene dressings to the
shot - ‘home sweet home’ sign and
coop ramp.

From there I then added the camera

to the shot (shot_cam), ensuring it
was set up to HD_1080 and looked
to frame the camera view to get a
cohesive set through the camera
shot, using the bucket and end coop
edge to help with the framing.
From there I then added a Arnold skydome light to the scene and looked to alter the lighting
exposure within the scene (as seen above where the white background transitions to black),
here I also looked to include a directional light to form cast shadows on the objects in the scene;
as shown on the Chicken coop and buckets in the foreground.
I then started to colour the models within the scene so they have a base colour to work from,
ready for when the textures are applied to the models later on.
Rendered colour blocked scene ready for texturing.
