 Most common test format used at all grade levels in
school.
 Require answer as brief as a single word or as long
as a sentence.
 There are several forms of short-answer question.
a) Completion item – incomplete sentence with a
blank at the end
b) Short answer item – question and short answer
c) Fill in the blanks – expected provide answer in the
space provided
