performance of a transformer

 by determining the number


turns at one winding in relation
to the number of turns at the
other winding at the same
phase

TTR Test Equipment


Testing procedure
Step 1. Isolate the transformer.

Step 2. Connect high/low voltage


leads to corresponding high/low
voltage terminals

Step 3. Apply input voltage on


primary side of the transformer.

Step 4. Perform turns ratio


measurements for all tap positions

Step 5. Compute for deviation in


percentage for measured and
expected turns ratio
Deviation in percentage

Measured turns ratio – expected turns ratio

Measured ratios must be within


0.5% of the calculated ratios
