All about Highway Patrol…
What is Highway Patrol?
A highway patrol is either a police unit created

primarily for the purpose of overseeing and enforcing

traffic safety compliance on roads and highways, or a

detail within an existing local or regional police agency

that is primarily concerned with such duties.

VISION

A safe highway conducive to economic growth through


efficient and effective services of professional, dynamic, and
highly motivated Highway Patrol Group.
MISSION

To enforce pertinent laws, prevent and control crimes,


maintain peace and order, and ensure public safety along the
highways with the active support of the community.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Highway Patrol’s Goals and Objectives:
Peaceful, Safe, Self-reliant and development-denominated communities;

Improve performance of local governments in governance,


administration, social and economic developments and environmental
management;

Sustain peace and order condition and ensure public safety.

the Highway Patrol Group is also responsible for going after


criminals involved in carjacking, highway robbery, and hijacking
cases, among others.

RANK CLASSIFICATION

MODIFIED PNP RANK CLASSIFICATION

 The Philippine National Police (PNP) has officially started implementing its

modified rank classification more than a month after the signing of


Republic Act (RA) 11200 on February 8.
 A memorandum order pertaining to the Implementing Rules and
Regulations (IRR) of the RA 11200 was issued by Police Lieutenant General
Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, the Chief Directorial Staff (PNP-TCDS), dated
March 25.
MODIFIED PNP RANK CLASSIFICATION

 The memo also provided the correct format when writing the new rank or

name nomenclature for police commissioned officers (PCOs) and police


non-commissioned officers (PNCOs).
According to the memo, the new ranks shall be:

CHIEF INSPECTOR - POLICE MAJOR (PMAJ)

SENIOR INSPECTOR - POLICE CAPTAIN (PCPT)
