1. To learn the historical foundations of education
from the ancient period, the medieval era up to
the contemporary period;

2. To gain insights on the thoughts and ideas of


great philosophers of the world;

3. To figure out the educational philosophies of our


present educational system;

4. To know the sociological background of learners


and educators for better understanding of
humanity;
