II. CASE STUDY

The whale shark as endangered, based on a global
assessment in 2016. It described the whale shark’s
population as “decreasing.” And some of the problems
are from the locals themselves wherein poaching of the
whale sharks is still being done. Moreover, there is also
a market and Demand for the meat, fins, and oil are
sold for and their skin for bags, outside of our country,
China and Taiwan as the primary destination. In
addition, the mining operation in nearby Albay can
compromise the efforts to conserve the integrity and the
lives of the Whale Sharks as the mining wastes could
contaminate the river channels in Albay that links to the
Donsol River.

II. CASE STUDY
Moreover the whale shark attraction
overshadows other destinations and
leisure activities that can be done in Donsol.
As it is my observation by researching most of
the articles is about promoting and
conservation of the whale sharks and there are
barely other articles that promotes the other
said destination. Hence, creating over tourist in
the Whale shark Attraction
