 Introduction
Normal wheelchair

• Manual wheelchairs are completely

controlled by the person and you have to it
into the direction as per your requirements.
• They have to move the large wheelchair by
themselves or ask someone to push it for
them.
• This causes a lot of loss in the upper body
strength of the handicapped person.
 Three way-axis wheelchair

• A smart wheelchair aims to provide aid

to those handicapped and physically
challenged persons by providing them
with some sort of mobility which
would greatly help them.
 Components

• Chair

• Arduino mega
• NV20 60rpm Box Motor
• ADXL335 Accelerometer
• Bluetooth
• 20mm Small Suspension x4
 Working
There are three ways in which this wheelchair can be
accessed. They are as follows :
• Motion sensor:
It senses the hand gestures/motions of the user and
moves accordingly in their desired direction.
• Joy Stick:
The wheelchair is provided with a Joy Stick that will
help the user to operate the motion of wheelchair
easily/conveniently.
• Voice recognition :
It is also provided with a voice recognition kit that
will help the user to operate the motion of wheelchair
easily/conveniently.
 Advantages

• Climbing up the stairs.

• Minimal effort to mobilize.
• Adaptable for severity of disability.
• Power for Distance.
 Disadvantages

• Maintainance and repairs.

• Initial expense.
• Limited power.
• Difficult for other to maneuver.
• Shouldn’t be only chair.
