PRELIMINARY

A. BACKGROUND
Assessment musculoskeletal includes
examining the bones, joints and
muscles. Assessment of this system is
complicated, because these parts are
responsible for the movement, support,
and stabilization of the body and its
functions are very integrated with the skin
and neurological systems.
DISCUSSION

A. GENERAL ASSESSMENT OF THE

MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM
The assessment needs to be done systematically,
thoroughly and directed. Data collected includes
subjective and objective data by conducting history
taking, physical examination, and diagnostic
examinations.

B. ANAMNESIS
1. Subjective data
2. Objective data
Physical examination

A. PHYSICAL EXAMINATION
1. Skeletal assessment of the body
Skeletal body can be assessed by the presence of
deformity and alignment .
2. Spinal Study Normal
convection of the normal spine in the chest and
concave along the neck and waist
3. Joint study
The joint system is evaluated by examining the
area of motion, defirmity, stability and bumps.

4. Muscle system assessment

The muscular system is examined by taking into account the
ability to change position, muscle strength and coordinate
the size of the muscles and the size of each muscle.
The techniques for muscle strength screening tests are as
follows.
1. Ocular usculator technique
2. Facial musculature technique
3. Neck musculature technique
4. Shoulder musculature technique
5. Deltoid musculature technique
6. Bisepsi technique
7. Triceps technique
8. Musculature technique of hand and finger movement
9. Pelvic musculature technique , supine
10.Quadriseps technique, sitting
11.Technique of hamstring
12.Musculature of ankle, and sole of the foot

5. Inspection and palpation

a. Inspection
- Symmetry throughout the body
- Alignment of extremity
- Existence of deformity and posture
- Muscles regarding real hypertrophy or atrophy

b. Palpation
- Palpate bones, joints, and muscles regarding
swelling, tenderness, changes in local temperature
and crepitation
- Normal : no swelling and tenderness depending
on history. Temperature is generally the same
overall no crepitus.
- Deviations : very prominent, swollen, or tender
- If the swelling fluctuates, this is due to a liquid, if
