DESCRIPTION
OF THE
PROJECTS

14
Breaking news
This micro project aims at developing
creative writing skills and acquiring
new vocabulary by creating a story
which was presented in the form of a
newspaper page that will contain a
story about a supernatural creature.

15
At the airport
This second micro project aimed at
prepare students for some real-life
situations as well as encourage them
to try out travelling experiences. As
the final outcome students were
expected to create their passports.

16
Future me
During the development of our teaching practice, we bore in
mind that students were about to finish secondary school and
face a new stage in their professional life. For that reason, we
encourage them to think about their own future and start
making their own plans to achieve their goals.

17
Future me
Students were required to make a
booklet where they illustrate and
describe their dreams and goals in
the near and distant future in both
their personal and professional
aspects of their lives.

Findings
22
Students feel more motivated to
learn the language when the class
is dynamic and ludic, thus they will
be more, active and eager to
participate during the activities.

More English classes per week

are needed in public schools in
order to raise the level of L2.

23
Students’ attitude improve when
the teachers made them feel
special.

The use of visual aid to explain

vocabulary and grammar topics
increase students understanding
and keeps them attentive to the
explanation.
24
Establishing a set of rules from the
beginning will avoid misbehaviors and
indiscipline; hence, the classroom will
be a more pleasant place to be and
the students will be more effective
and engaged in their learning.

RECOMM
ENDATIO
NS
28
‐ It will be important to recognize that public schools design 3
hours of English class per week and sometimes they are even
reduced due to the extra curricular activities. Therefore, it is
necessary to bring into discussion the missing classes and
reduce the time of extra activities that are not oriented to the
main objective.
‐ The implementation of resources such as dynamic games,
authentic activities, visual aids and media are tools that allow
the teacher to make the class easy to understand, enticing
and fun. Resources will provide
29 a different classroom setting

to which students will feel more appealed to.

RECOMMEN
DATIONS
-Using different approaches in the classroom can benefit
significantly the students performance and motivation towards the
class. In this case, a project based approach made students learn
the English Language and develop different abilities while making a
connection to a real life situation.
- It is important to have a good relationship in order to create a
pleasant environment in the classroom which could bring enjoyable
learning experiences and better learning outcomes.
