STEP 1: Development
Phase

❑ Professors possess both the experiential and educational background to


be qualified in leading the endeavor to establish a new intervention
program for immigrant communities & its objectives.

❏ They can partner with associations, e.g. CASA Lab, to work with
professionals that specialize in clinical psychology or community
psychology to support the development of a new program that is
culturally informed based on the diversity of needs in the
community.

❏ Prior to the development stage, this partnership will be


able to successfully identify what the issues are with the
current mental health support systems in the community.

STEP 2: Logistics Phase

❑ The Partnership can then propose their plan to institutions that


have the platform to support the execution of the program
because, typically, funds are needed that individuals and
associations would otherwise lack.
❏ After receiving funding, the partnership can then pay additional
personnel to support the execution of the plan as well as
paying for additional materials that may be needed.

STEP 3: Execution Phase

❑ Qualified individuals can then host the new & informed intervention
program in physical spaces (e.g. parks, places of worship) and in
modified ways (e.g. mindfulness, exercise) to accommodate the
feelings of controversy in immigrant communities surrounding
receiving professional help for one’s emotional wellbeing.
❏ Professionals can also train worship leaders, e.g. Imam, rabbi,
priest, basic applications of psychotherapy to support
discussion of issues involved in life readjustment.
