 Definisi

Metalurgi Ektraksi ialah ilmu dan teknik tentang pengambilan

mineral yang bernilai dari suatu ore, kemudian memurnikannya dan
mempersiapkannya agar dapat digunakan.
Ore adalah kumpulan mineral–mineral alami yang mana
mengandung mineral yang bernilai (akan diolah/diekstraksi).
Mineral adalah Substansi anorganik yang homogen dan alami yang
mana memiliki sifat fisik tertentu dan memiliki komposisi kimia
tertentu. Misal : PbS (galena), Fe3O4 (magnetit), CuFeS2 (kalkopirit)
dll.
Ore Mineral adalah mineral yang mengandung logam berharga di
dalam suatu ore.
Gangue mineral adalah mineral yang tidak berharga yang mana
terkandung di dalam ore.
