 The Definition of Tourism may varies source by source,
person by person.
There is no consensus concerning the definition of tourism.
Nearly every institution defines "Tourism" differently.
In order to prevent the disaccords to
define"Tourism", WTO defined Tourism as:

“The activities of persons traveling to and

staying in places outside their usual
environment for not more than one
consecutive year for leisure, business and
other purposes.“
(WTO in Richardson & Fluker, 2004:6).

The definition of Tourism

“Tourism comprises the ideas and opinions
people hold which shape their decisions about
going on trips, about where to go (and where
no to go) and what to do or not to do, about
how to relate to other tourists, locals and
service personnel. And it is all the behavioral
manifestations of those ideas and opinions”
(Leiper, 1995, in Richardson & Fluker, 2004:6)
