Research Design
This study used library research. This research called
library research because the researcher studies about
analysing the cartoon movie as media to teach
narrative text that identifying in EFL Context.
Data and Source of the data
• the sources data of this research are written and non
written materials. In this study the researcher use 50
articles and theses to conduct the research.
• Secondary data are data obtained through other parties, not
directly obtained by researchers from the research subjects.
Data Collection Technique and Instrument
• In this study, data collected are secondary data in the form
of writings that tried to discuss the use of film media in
teaching narrative text.
• For the instrument in this research is the researcher herself.
Data Analysis Technique
1. Examining the available data namely, articles, journals, and theses that discuss the use of cartoon movies
as media in teaching narrative text. the process is reading.

2. The next step is to conduct data reduction by making abstractions.

3. Arrange them in units in chapters that are in accordance with the order of thinking of the units and then
categorized in the next step. The categories are carried out by making data coding (research data
simplification efforts)

4. The final stage of the data analysis process is to conduct a data validity check. After completing this
stage, the data interpretation stage in processing provisional results begins to become a substantive theory
using certain methods.

5. Preparation of substantive theory is to obtain a new theory that is grounded theory, the analysis shows the
metaphors or designs that have been done in the analysis, then the results of the analysis are used for the
validity of the research conducted by other researchers. Also the researcher describe the results of the
analysis that answered the existing research questions.
