DEVELOPING

THE WHOLE
PERSON
What is Holistic Development?
 It is a
practical approach to a
comprehensive learning
system where physical,
social, emotional, mind
and spiritual growth of a
child is taken care. This
style of education not
only focuses on mere
learning but also on
implementing what is
learnt.
Physiological Development
 The development of human
beings' cognitive, emotional,
intellectual, and social
capabilities and functioning
over the course of the life span,
from infancy through old age. It
is the subject matter of the
discipline known as
developmental psychology.
Cognitive Development

 The term cognition is derived from the latin

word “cognoscere” which means “to know” or
“to recognize” or “to conseptualise”
 It is the construction of thought processes,
including remembering, problem solving, and
decision-making, from childhood through
adolescence to adulthood.
Psychological Development
Cognitive development generates
changes based on how thinking,
feeling and behaving interact with
others. During adolescence,
individuals undergo the process of
self-evaluation which leads to a long-
range goal setting, emotional and
social independence, and maturity.
Social Development
Social Development will manifest
a re-establishment of goof
relationships and interactions with
other individuals or groups of
people. They begin to rely more on
their friends or peer groups for
support more than on their family.
Spiritual Development

It is about a person’s beliefs including values and

virtues. They begin to formulate questions
concerning existence, essence, spirituality,
religion, and God.

person when he or she is having thoughts that
he or she can verbalize them.

of feelings are anger, sadness, fear and
happiness.

conjunction with themselves or their
environment.

higher level in the spirit world. There are
three areas of spiritual learning.

1.Skills
2.Beliefs
3.Evolution
SKILLS
Include the ability to serve as conduit for
spiritual healing and the ability to perceive
communications from spirits. However,
having these abilities does not indicate
that someone is advanced spiritually.
BELIEFS
 These are what you believe about
the afterlife and the purpose of the
earth life. That is also not related
on how spiritually evolve a person
is.
EVOLUTION
It is primarily what spiritual development is concerned with.

spiritual beliefs or skills. The process of spiritual evolution
involves the development of personality traits of a highly
evolved spirit. These traits include the ability to love and
