INTRODUCTION:
 Solar energy is an unlimited source of energy.
 Sun Tracking Solar Panel Using Arduino project is based on
Arduino which make the harnessing of solar energy more
efficient.
 Solar panels are a great way to produce power literally out of thin
air.
 We use two LDRs to sense the light and a servo motor to
automatically rotate the solar panel in the direction of the sun
light.
OBJECTIVE:

 The main objective of this project is to track the sun and

rotate the solar panel accordingly to receive sunlight to
the fullest extent always during the day time.
 Our goal is to utilize the maximum solar energy by
using solar panel.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:

 A solar tracker is used in various systems for the improvement of

harnessing of solar radiation.
 The problem that is posed is the implementation of a system
which is capable of enhancing production of power by 30-40%.
 The control circuit is implemented by the microcontroller. The
control circuit then positions the motor that is used to orient the
solar panel optimally.
LITERATURE REVIEW:
 Concentrators in solar cell applications, require a high degree of accuracy to make
sure that the concentrated sunlight is directed exactly to the powered device, which
is close to the focal point of the reflector or lens.
 Without tracking, concentrator systems will not work at all, therefore single-axis
tracking is mandatory .
 However, tracking with great effect can improve both the amount of total output
power produced by a system and that produced during critical system demand
periods
 Maximum energy is produced by a solar PV panel when it is positioned at right
angle to the sun. For this reason, several researches developed different types of
solar panel tracking system.

EXPERIMENTAL DETAILS:
 LDR’s are working as light detectors.
 The two LDR’s are placed at the two sides of solar panel and the
Servo Motor is used to rotate the solar panel.
 The servo will move the solar panel towards the LDR whose
resistance will be low, mean towards the LDR on which light is
falling.
 And if there is same amount of light falling on both the LDR,
then servo will not rotate. The servo will try to move the solar
panel in the position where both LDR’s will have the same
resistance and if resistance of one of the LDR will change then it
rotates towards lower resistance LDR

ADVANTAGES:

 The solar energy can be reused as it is renewable

resource.
 This also saves money as there is no need to pay for
energy used (excluding the initial setup cost)
 Helps in maximizing the solar energy absorption by
continuously tracking the sun.
