ABOUT CORONA VIRUS

Corona viruses are a large family of viruses that can cause disease in animals or
humans.
• The recently discovered corona virus causes COVID-19 disease.

• COVID-19 took the form of a pandemic in a very short time. It has spread to over 5
continents.

• Many people compare it to the flu. Even the number of deaths from the Corona Virus is
similar to the number of deaths from the flu except for the fact that the Corona Virus is
spreading much faster.

• The virus has caused numerous problems both in the economy and in the health system.
There are not enough medical staff in my country and people are not disciplined.

SYMPTOMS

•The symptoms of Corona virus SARS-CoV-2 infection are similar to flu symptoms:

 Lack of air
• A cough
• Fever
• Unconsciousness
•  Muscle pain
• Fatigue
•In severe cases, pneumonia, acute respiratory syndrome, impaired renal function, sepsis and septic shock
occur. A more severe form of the disease requires hospital treatment.

INCUBATION PERIOD

• The incubation period usually lasts from 1 to 14 days, and on

average 5 days. Rare cases have been reported where the
incubation period was 24 days.

TRANSMISSION
•Droplets. When an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks, droplets with the virus
fly into the air from their nose or mouth Anyone who is within 6 feet of that person
can breathe those droplets into their lungs.

•Aerosolized transmission. Research shows that the virus can live in the air for up to
3 hours. When you breathe air that has the virus floating in it, it gets into your lungs.

•Surface transmission. Another way to catch the new coronavirus is when you touch
surfaces that someone who has the virus has coughed or sneezed on. You may touch
a countertop or doorknob that's contaminated and then touch your nose, mouth, or
eyes. The virus can live on surfaces like plastic and stainless steel for 2 to 3 days. To
stop it, clean and disinfect all counters, knobs, and other surfaces you and your family
touch several times a day.

• Fecal-oral. Studies also suggest that virus particles can be found in
infected people's poop. But experts aren't sure whether the infection can
spread through contact with an infected person's stool. If that person
uses the bathroom and doesn't wash their hands, they could infect things
and people that they touch.

• The virus most often spreads through people who have symptoms. But it
may be possible to pass it on without showing any signs. Some people
who don't know they've been infected can give it to others. This is called
asymptomatic spread. You can also pass it on before you notice any signs
of infection, called presymptomatic spread.

PREVENTION
• Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly by rubbing your hands with alcohol-based
antiseptics or wash them with soap and water!
• Keep a distance of at least a meter between yourself and anyone who coughs or
sneezes.
• Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
• Be sure to follow good respiratory hygiene. This means that you need to cover your
mouth and nose with a bent elbow or handkerchief. when you cough or sneeze. Then
immediately put the used tissue in the bucket.
• Stay up to date with the latest corona virus outbreaks (cities or localities where COVID-
19 is spreading). If possible, avoid traveling - especially if you are elderly or have
diabetes, heart disease or lung disease.
• Stay home if you are not feeling well. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty
breathing, seek medical attention.
