Telecephalon ( Cerebrum )
• Location : The cerebrum is located in the upper part of

the cranial cavity, which is a space inside the top of the skull.

• It is generally classified into four lopes:
the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes. The lobes
are classified based on their overlying neurocranial bones.
• Structure : the cerebrum is the largest and best-developed of

the five major divisions of the brain. The cerebrum consists of

two cerebral hemispheres, separated from each other by a
deep fissure called the lateral sulcus.

Diencephalon

• Location : In adults, the diencephalon appears at the

upper end of the brain stem, situated between the

cerebrum and the brain stem.

• Structure : Consists of following structure-

the Thalamus, the Subthalamus, the Hypothalamus,

and the Epithalamus.

MID BRAIN

• Location :  The midbrain is located below the cerebral

cortex, and above the hindbrain, placing it near the center

of the brain.

• Structure : The midbrain comprises the tectum, tegmentum,

the cerebral aqueduct, and the cerebral peduncles;

while rostrally it adjoins the diencephalon.

HIND BRAIN

• Location : Between the spinal cord and the brain hemispheres.

• Structure :  The hindbrain is comprised of the pons, medulla, and

cerebellar structures of brain. The pons and medulla are important

because they're the points of origination for eight of our 12 pairs of

cranial nerves nerves that directly exit the cranium rather than the

spinal cord.

VENTRICULAR SYSTEM

• The ventricular system is a set of four interconnected cavities

(ventricles) in the brain, where the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is

produced. Within each ventricle is a region of choroid plexus, a

network of ependymal cells involved in the production of CSF.

• The system comprises four ventricles: Lateral ventricles right and

left (one for each hemisphere) , Third ventricle, Fourth ventricle.
