Digital Learning: Tips for Efficiency

1. Have a morning Routine

• Wake up, get ready & dressed, eat breakfast, workout (whatever helps you start your day!)
2. Create a schedule & stay organized
• Write down your schedule and/or use your phone to keep track of your time & assignments.
I would individualize the schedule on the previous slide in concordance with your school
schedule. Make “to-do” lists for the day and/or week.
3. Have a dedicated work space
• Carve out a space in your home were you can effectively get your work done. If you can,
make this a clean, organized & private space that you can “leave” at the end of the day.
4. Have things to look forward to
• Go outside, exercise, FaceTime with friends, bake, garden, do yoga, listen to music or watch a
movie with family-whatever makes you happy! Try to pick 1 small “happy” thing each day

3
Digital Learning: Communication &
Messaging
Teachers will be available to answer students’ questions throughout the duration
of your 60 minute scheduled time. The primary means of communication will be
via the messaging feature on Schoology (envelope icon at the top of the page)

You can find this

messaging tool in
the upper right of
your Schoology
page!

Digital Learning: Navigating
Schoology
• You might have noticed, some
things have changed on Schoology
• Each teacher has been instructed
to model the weekly structure (as
seen in the image to the left)

Each teacher has a folder for each

week of instruction. You will want to
check-in with this weekly plan.

TIP: For optimal organization, I would

write down a weekly overview,
covering all of your classes

Digital Learning: Navigating
Schoology
Next, within each week, you’ll see the format below. Starting in Week 2, you will
also see an additional “Summative Assessments” Folder (Tests, Quizzes, etc.)

Within this folder you’ll find

lesson plans, videos, etc.
giving an overview of what
is due that week

Within this folder you’ll

find your attendance
check-in task and any
dailies to be completed
Within this folder you’ll that week
find any AA projects due
that week 6
Digital Learning: Attendance
• Teachers will use a Daily Prayer Test in Schoology to take
student attendance.
• Students should complete their daily attendance quiz by the
end of the “school day.” I have personally set this to 2:40 pm
BUT some teachers have set it during their specific scheduled
time (see slide 2 for this hourly break down).
• Make sure you are aware of each teacher’s expectation.
Teachers will have to email parents & students’ guidance
counselor when students do not respond to two daily prayer
response quizzes.

You will have to click &

complete these
attendance tasks to be
marked “present”
7
Digital Learning: Grades
• Teachers will still be using Renweb to enter grades
• Make sure you are actively checking your grades for Quarter 4
• Dailies and AA’s are still in effect
• Your Teachers may assign Quizzes and Tests at their discretion starting
in Week 2
Note: It has not yet been determined if teachers are required to have 3
Tests (of 100 points each, totally 300 points).

Message from
Administration:
“The purpose of Virtual Learning days is to
ensure learning continues on days when
we are unable to physically be present at
BMCHS…Despite the fact that teachers
and students are not physically at this time
on campus, class activities and
assignments will continue to occur”
.
