Professional, familiar and social sense of
profession
 A profession is the social activity linked to some of the aspects
(economic, cultural, technical, scientific, political, etc.) of the
development and progress of society, for whose exercise it is required
to have completed a study plan (medium or higher) approved by
educational institutions. ''
 The purpose of the profession is not limited to just earning money, but
the profession itself must have a purpose. The achievement of that
purpose is what gives the profession meaning and social legitimacy.
 The profession originates from the social division of labor.
By the very logic of job performance, work tends to be
divided into complementary and interrelated functions.
 The profession has a double aspect, individual and social.
It is individual in that it arises from a human person and
must return to it. It is social in that every profession is a
service to the community.
 The profession is fundamentally at the service of others. A
professional who exercises his trade exclusively for his
benefit, is missing the demands of the profession
 In other words, every profession carries out its activity in a
social function

 The social sense is the responsibility that professionals

have to a vision of what benefits or value society has at
work
 In the social sense it would have a double meaning:
 One when the professional has his or her profession
purpose
 Terms of the value that the professional has and its
repercussions both on the individual and on society, it can
be said that more than those who receive the product of
work professional.
 As electronic engineers we must know the responsibility
that we carry not only in the scientific or technological
but also in our human contribution that we carry in our
profession, seek ways to contribute to the full
development of society
Family influence on the profession

 The family plays a very important role by fulfilling certain functions and in
almost all authors coincide in pointing out, except for slight differences in the
semantic order, the following functions:
 Biological-social function: it manifests itself through the reproduction of the
population and the family itself, sexuality and fertility. This function is
expressed in the sociological order in the demographic picture of the
population.
 Economic function: It guarantees the integrity of its members through the
satisfaction of consumption needs.
 Educational-cultural function: To guarantee the civic formation of its
members according to the norms of social behavior and according to the
revolutionary principles of our country.
Example: if I am doing well with my
family, it is reflected in my work and my
actions or performance
