productivity and growth in a workplace.

intelligence, empathy, creative problem
solving are required to effectively manage
conflicts.

Conflict Management Strategies

 There are five different approaches to resolving conflicts- Avoiding, Accommodating, Compromising,
Competing, Collaborating.
 AVOIDING- Whoever uses a "avoid" strategy mostly tries to ignore or sidestep the conflict, hoping it
will resolve itself or dissipate.
 ACCOMODATING- Using the "accommodating" dispute management approach basically means taking
action to meet the interests or expectations of the other side at the detriment of your own wishes or
desires.
 COMPROMISING- The "compromising" approach includes seeking an appropriate compromise which
would partly, but not completely, meet the interests of all concerned parties.
 COMPETING- Person who employs the "competing" dispute management technique attempts to fulfil
their own needs at the detriment of the other interested parties.
 COLLABORATING- Use of "collaborating" involves seeking a compromise that fully addresses the
interests of all the parties concerned.
