DEFINITION:

A Group of words which makes complete


sense is called sentence.

Example : A quick brown fox jumps over


the lazy dog.
KINDS OF SENTENCES:

1.DECLARATIVE
2.INTERROGATIVE
3.IMPERATIVE
4.EXCLAMATORY
DEFINITION :
Sentences which
makes statements or
assertions.
DECLARATIVE / Examples:
ASSERTIVE • I am Fine.
• He is driving a car.
• Draupa is typing an
email.
• Kushi bought a new
house.
DEFINITION:
Those sentences which
ask questions are called
interrogative sentences.
INTERROGATIVE Examples:
• How are you?
• Where are you living?
• Is that everything alright?
• Would you mind if I take
your pen?
Definition:
Sentences those expresses
commands, requests or entreaties
are called imperative sentences.

IMPERATIVE Examples :
• Be quite.
• Stand up.
• Alms, please.
• Kindly bring me that cover.
• Could you take me to hospital?
• Help me to cross the road.
Definition :
The strong feelings are
expressed in this type of
sentences.
Example:
• Ouch! It’s hurting so
EXCLAMATORY much.
• Wow! What a surprise.
• Ram you are such a gem!
• What soothing moon light
is!
