gerundio e infinitivo y sus propósitos
comunicativos en su proceso de
aprendizaje.
GRAMMAR
VERBS FOLLOWED BY GERUNDS
Use gerunds after some verbs as keep, mind, practice,
admit, deny, and suggest, or verbs of emotion as like,
love, enjoy, hate.

EXAMPLE:
• This people deny owing money to the bank
• Mary loved watching horror movies
VERBS FOLLOWED BY INFINITIVE
Use infinitive after the most part of verbs as hope,
want, decide, ask, advice and others.

EXAMPLE:
• We hope to finish this work today
• Jacob wanted to buy this house
VERBS FOLLOWED BY A GERUND
OR AN INFINITIVE
Some verbs can be use with gerund or infinitive and the meaning or
intention does not change, for example love begin, continue, start.
Some verbs change depending, if it is with a gerund don’t do the action
anymore, if it is with an infinitive stop something to start the action.

EXAMPLE:
• You stopped doing your duties (don’t do the action anymore)
• You stopped to do your duties (stop something to start the action)
