Types Of Bar

The first bar appeared in Great Britain about 170 years ago. } It was
invented by I.K Brunel, a great British engineer, as a mean of more
quickly serving. } The first bar to serve alcohol was installed at The Great
Western Hotel
.
It is a place which serves soft & alcoholic beverages including draft &
bottled beer,wine,spirits & cocktails. } The term ‘A Bar’ means a
‘specialised counter’ on which drinks are served. It is also the method of
serving customers from a counter. } The “Back Bar” is a set of shelves of
glasses & bottles behind the counter.

Wine bar serve everything from Beer to
Hard Liquor. } Wine Bars admit only adult

Beer Bar is a place where all types of beer are on
sale. Beer is the oldest alcoholic beverage; the
third most popular drink over the world after water
& tea. } Beer has less alcoholic content than wine.
The strength of beer is usually around 4% to 6% of
alcohol by volume. } Beer Bars are prohibited to
sell alcoholic beverages instead of beer. hey serve
bottled, canned & draught beers that is served
from a large container-
Public Bar A bar which is located in lobby or
public area were the people move is more &
has a luxury decor and lavish furnish with
excellent bar tenders to enjoy varieties of
beverages. } Large in size

Lounge Bar It is small in size. } It is more


comfortable and have cherished atmosphere. }
It is expensive and meant for elities.
Sports Bar It offers some kind of menu options such as,
sandwiches,burgers,pizza and appetizers. } The main
attraction is sporting events, sports bar have a televisions in
view of every seat, sometimes tuned to different channels. }
Audio and video technology come into play, wth some
owners spending a large percentage of their revenue on
keeping up with the latest technology.

Night Club Bar Very expensive, exclusively meant for elites. }


They serve los of table wines with table service.It closes late
night.
Dive Bar It is a type of bar or a pub. Dive bars
generally have a relaxed and informal
atmosphere-often refer to ‘neighbourhood bars’,
where people in the neighbourhood gather to
drink and socialize. } Individual bars may be
considered to be disreputable.
Cabaret is a form of entertainment
featuring music, comedy, song, dance,
recitation or drama. } It is mainly
distinguished by its performance venue,
such as in a restaurant, pub or night club
with a stage for performances .

The Front Bar – the counter area of the bar where customers order their
drinks

The Back Bar – the area where bottles of liquors and rows of sparkling
glassware are displayed. It is a good place also to display call brands as

Under bar – the heart of the entire bar operations and deserves the most
careful attention because in its space are the equipment and supplies for
the products to be sold
BAR CLASSIFICATION
Permanent Bar – also called stand – up bar
which forms an integral part of the interior
design and decoration of the outlet. It has three
basic parts of the bar and serves directly to the
customer at the bar and licensed filled drinks
order brought by the server
Service Bar – refers to bar that pours for
the table service only usually in connection
with food service. It does not serve the
customer directly but deals only with filling
drinks order brought by servers. Sometimes
it is part of the dining room but more often it
is out of sight.
Mobile Bar – refers to a bar that is
movable and can transfer from one
place to another. It is usually
provided for parties and special
functions such as banquet and
catering.
