1. The document discusses modifying an old 2.5L diesel engine from a Bolero vehicle into a 40kVA electric generator to reuse old engines.
2. The main goals are to start the engine without the gearbox or unnecessary equipment by disassembling and reassembling the engine to power an alternator.
3. Reusing old diesel engines as generators could help the environment by reducing waste and costs while producing affordable electricity following a proposed ban on diesel vehicles after 2030 in India.

On Electric Generator Department of Mechanical Engineering
B.B.S. College of Engineering and Technology
Prayagraj (Allahabad), U.P. What is the work? 1. To modify, old and waste 2.5L DI Turbo Diesel Engine (Bolero) into 40 kVA Electric Generator. 2. So, Our main aim is to start the engine by dissembly of gear box and other equipment which is not necessary to drive Alternator. 3. The above process includes : • Planning • Designing • Assembly & Dissembly of Engine • Survey & Inspection • Purchasing Purpose of the Project • The Niti Aayog has reportedly proposed that after 2030, only electric vehicles should be sold in India. • If we will assume after 2050, there will be complete ban of diesel cars. • A big question will arise “how can old car be utilized”. • So we are proposing a plan to reuse these diesel engine as Electric Generator. Impact on Environment • Reuse: We are using a diesel engine for the electric generator, which is not environment friendly. Rather it is old and waste product , so we are reusing it. That will save money, material and man power. • During mass production by reusing old engine, we will produce at low cost which is affordable by all. • Thus, the Nation economy will get improve. At what stage the work is… 1. Planning: • How and what to dissemble has been done. 2. Survey & Inspection: • Cost analysis has been done . 3. Engine Dissembly: • On progress… Thank you…
