 Descriptive Text
 Descriptive text, descriptive is about sensory experience how
something looks, sound, tastes, mostly, it is abot visual
experiance but description also deals with other kinds of
perception.

 Descriptive text is a text which says what a person or a thing is

like.

 It’spurpose is to discribe and reveal a particular person, place

or thing.
THE GENERIC STRUCTURE DESCRIPTIVE TEXT HAS
STRUCTURED AS BELOW:

1. Identification => Identifying the phenomenon to be

described
2. Description => Describing the phenomenon in parts, quality,
or/and, characteristic, in this part gives detail of the
characteristic features of subject.
THE LANGUAGE FEATURES

1. Focus of spesific participant.

2. Using atributive verbs/relating verbs (eng, is, a, are).
3. Using adjective
4. Using Simple Present Tense (S + To Be + ...)
=> This tenses will be use if the thing still exist.

Using Simple Past Tense (S + To Be + ...)

=> This tenses will be use if the thing doesn’t exist
anymore.

Niagara Falls
Niagara waterfall is the most popular waterfall in the world. It is one of the most beautiful
natural wonders of North America. Tough it is not too high Niagara waterfall is very wide and
able to produce more than 6 million cubic water per minute. It is considered as the most
powerful waterfall in North America.

Niagara waterfall is on Niagara River which is part of the border between Canada and the
United States. It is located about halfway between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Niagara
waterfall has two waterfalls. The Horseshoe Fall belongs to Ontario, Canada and the
American Fall belongs to New York, United States of America.

At the Niagara waterfall, the water from Niagara River drops into a steep gorge or canyon.
Most of the water flows over the Horseshoe waterfall. Horseshoe waterfall is not as high as
the American waterfall, but it is 792 meters wide (0.8 kilometers) the American waterfall is
only about 305 meters wide. Beyond the falls are the Whirlpool Rapids. There, the powerful
swirling water has carved a bowl out of the rock.

Niagara waterfall becomes one of many favorite places to visit in United States. To attract
many tourists, at night colored lights shine on the thundering waterfall. It is estimated that
about 10 million tourists visit Niagara waterfall each year.
Keraton Yogyakarta
Kraton Yogyakarta or Sultan Palace was build in 1756 by Prince Mangkubumi
(Hamengkubuwono I) as a center of the Kingdom Ngayogyakarta.The palace
building stretches from north to south. In the north front side of the palace you
can find the square also called “Plaza North” and at the the backyard is called
“Southern Square”.
The inner Palace is the center of the compound and is decorated with beautiful
ornaments and has teak wood structures in its interior.Inside the inner palace is
the Sultan’s work room and library where he used to carry out his work. There is
also a special room for royal weddings and for the inauguration of Princes or
Princesses. The most important area in the inner palace is Bangsal Prabayeksa, a
hall where sacred weapons are kept. On permanent display in the hall are a
collection of keris, spears, knifes, arrows, war uniforms and guns. Once a year, in
the Suro month, a Javanese month, the weapons are cleaned during a sacred
ceremony.
If want to visit the palace we must pay 2500 rupiahs. And it is open from 9am
until 2 pm.
