INTRODUCTION
Diet comes from the word "diaeta" which
translates to "prescribed way of life".

VITAMIN A
01 The human epidermis contains a large amount of vitamin A

Vitamin A cannot be synthesized; it must be obtained through the

diet consumed.
Consumption of vitamin A depends on the source of retinoids
(animal sources) and carotene (plant sources) in the diet.

Vitamin A, also called retinol, is associated with intracellular

proteins that direct these nutrients to the cell nucleus, controlling
the synthesis of other proteins.
These nutrients not only stimulate glycoprotein synthesis, ensure
skin protection and maintain moisture, also inhibit the synthesis of
high molecular weight ceratine.
If there is a lack of retinol, there is a high risk of developing
follicular hyperkeratosis

VITAMIN A
01 Vitamin A is available in multivitamins and as a standalone
supplement, often in the form of retinyl acetate or retinyl
palmitate.
Multivitamin supplements typically contain 750-3,000 mcg of
RAE (2,500-10,000 IU) vitamin A, often in the form of retinol
and beta-carotene.
28% -37% of the general population take supplements
containing vitamin A.

destroy free radicals inside and outside cells. Helps in the formation of tissue particles,
wound healing and absorption of iron. Helps prevent bruising and keeps teeth healthy.

Vitamin C can also be obtained from oranges, berries, peppers, potatoes, garlic,
onions, leafy green or dark green vegetables (spinach), apples, cabbage, sprouts and
melons.
Vitamin C is important because of its antioxidant content, as well as its antihistamine
effect, can prevent skin infections and heal wounds, produce collagen and elastin to
tighten skin, support healthy gums and supple blood vessels.

occurs naturally in foods, such

other ascorbate minerals;
ascorbic acid with
bioflavonoids; and combination

Vitamin K is essential in the process of
blood clotting and improves blood
circulation, which may help the body heal
areas injured during surgery.
Several forms of vitamin K are used in
dietary supplements, including vitamin K1
as phylloquinone or phytonadione
(synthetic form of vitamin K1) and vitamin
K2 as MK-4 or MK-7.
One study found that phytonadione and
MK-7 supplements were well absorbed, but
MK-7 had a longer half-life.

as it works with vitamin A to maintain and repair skin, supporting
skin strength, elasticity and firmness.

Zinc supplements can be given via zinc sulfate (23% zinc) or zinc
gluconate (14% zinc) Although zinc sulfate has a higher trace
element content of zinc, zinc gluconate is reported to have a less
bitter taste.
Zinc supplementation has also been shown to play a role in the
wound healing process. A controlled study of 20 young men who
underwent pilonidal sinus excision found that the group treated
with zinc sulfate 220 mg 3 times per day recovered at a much
faster rate.

versus a high GI / GL diet on acne. In 2 RCTs, the low GI / GL group experienced a
significant reduction in the number of pimples and the free androgen index as well as a
significant increase in insulin sensitivity and IGFBP compared to the high GI / GL
group.
Observational studies have also shown a link between glycemic load and acne. A case-
control study revealed a significant comparison of the high glycemic load between acne
patients and healthy controls, including a multivariate analysis of body mass index
calculations.
The community-based case-control study found that patients consuming a Mediterranean
diet, another low GI diet, were less likely to develop acne.

NONMELANOMA SKIN CANCER
A randomized trial found no significant effect of a low-fat diet
on nonmelanoma skin cancer, therefore limiting fatty foods do not need to be
recommended for the prevention of nonmelanoma skin cancer.

Animal studies have shown that the intake of fatty foods

significantly affects the occurrence of Non Melanoma Skin
Cancer (NMSC)  Higher dietary fat reduces the time interval
between ultraviolet (UV) exposure and tumor onset and
increases the number of tumors in mice.
One case-control study revealed lower serum b-carotene and
vitamin A levels in cases with NMSC than in controls, and a
significant inverse association between dietary intake of b-
carotene and NMSC.
case-control study found that vitamin A intake was associated

04PSORIASIS

Diet plays an important role in psoriasis as a supan energy in psoriasis also have
a positive correlation with BMI, which means that psoriasis patients more
severely affected tend to be obese; therefore, weight loss is recommended in
obese psoriatic patients.
Alcohol stimulates the release of histamine, increases your intake of fatty foods,
and reduces your consumption of fresh vegetables and fruits  alcohol intake
should be limited in psoriasis.  Your Picture Here

Consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables, such as carrots, tomatoes, broccoli,

oranges and peppers may be beneficial for psoriasis as carotenoids,
flavonoids and vitamin C is high .
A diet containing good sources of folic acid ( fresh green leafy vegetables ,
fruits, organ meats, dry nutritional yeast) and vitamin B12 (yeast, liver, beef,
eggs, kidney) is recommended.

CONCLUSION
Diet is a habit that is allowed in terms of food and
drinks that a person eats from day to day, especially
those specifically designed to achieve the goal and to
enter or remove certain food ingredients .

The body's metabolic balance can be supplied with the materials

needed

Dietary intervention may be recommended as therapy, as in

dermatology cases.
