FICTION AND NON-FICTION

• Fiction is a literature in the form of prose, especially


novels, that describes imaginary events, setting and
characters.

• Non-fiction is a genre of novel which includes writing


based on true events, real life situations and has a purpose
to express or to inform.

• The following story written by Grace Ogot, takes place in
Kenya, the place of her birth in Africa.
• Aloo had left her baby and little boy in the care of a young
girl whilst she went to weed the beans and gather firewood
two miles from the village. The story starts just as she is
returning to her hut and she sees a crowd gathered outside.
