DESCRIPTION (GEORGE TOWN)

 George Town is a busy


commercial zone, having
surrounded by colonial-era
buildings. The locality was
adapted by the British and grew
as a major urban center.
 It extends form Bay of Bengal in
the east to the park town in the
west. And Royapuram in the north
to The Fort St. George in the
south.
 The area has many heritage and
modern buildings on Rajaji salai
and NSB Bose road.
PRIMARY FOCUS
 To enhance and bring back the rich heritage of George town (Old black town and New
Black town) through landscape elements without losing its character. The challenge is to
provide this dense urban fabric with a landscape character.
DESCRIPTION (PERAMBUR ICF)

 Perambur is a neighborhood in the northern region of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is


4 km from Chennai Central station.
 Perambur is a notable railway town in the Indian Railways history. As the first railway
proposals for India were made in Madras in 1832.
 Perambur ICF Railway colony was developed during the early establishment of railways in
1850.
PRIMARY FOCUS
 The evolution of settlements and development within the colony remains the same for at
least half a century. Since there has been no major change. The colony is home for various
Native Trees and Bird species.
 Hence the theme and primary focus is to Revitalize the perambur ICF.

Pudupet, Egmore, Island grounds, and Anna salai, Chepauk.
