• Sahara India pariwar is an Indian conglomerate with diversified business and asset including India’s largest
land bank spread in cities across India.
• Its headquarter is in Lucknow, India.
• It is a privately held company founded nearly about 42 years ago in 1978 (Gorakhpur) by Subrata Roy who is
also the chairman and managing worker of the company.
• The group operate different business sectors such as infrastructure and housing, finance, media and
entertainment, health care, education, hospitality and information technology and it has been a major
promoter of sports in India,
• In addition it operates the power plant to generate power from bio-fuel. In the year of 2004 Sahara group was
declared as the “2nd largest employer in India” by Time magazine with its employ strength around 1.4 million
