INTRODUCTION
In this model we show that how we can generate a
voltage from the busy traffic

We get electricity from the conversion of other source

of energy, which are primary sources and are limited

 If we convert K.E of Vehicle into the rotational motion

then we can produce considerable amount of elctricity

We will convert Mechanical energy into Electrical

energy
CONSTRUCTION OF THE HUMP

• A flexible hump made up of steel stripes, angle &

channels fitted & hinged together in such a manner in
the form of hump which can be pressed and released
vertically down & up supported the springs.

• A fly wheel which is axially connected to spiral spring is

designed to rotate 1.5 times of the crank.
POWER GENERATION MECHANISM
 The possible three different mechanism are
given below:

Crank-shaft mechanism
Roller mechanism
 Rack and pinion mechanism
RACK AND PINION METHOD
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

A. RACK AND PINION GEARS: used to convert
between rotary and translatory motion.
B. BALL BEARINGS: reduce the friction and
transmit the motion effectively..
C. SPUR GEAR: used for adjusting some linear
misalignment.
D. FLY WHEEL : act as an energy accumulator.
E. SHAFTS: used to transmit power from one place
to another place and supports the rotating
elements
F. SPRINGS: distort when loaded and to recover its
original shape when the load is removed.
DIAGRAM
W0RKING PRINCIPLE
• With the approach of vehicle’s front axial wheel on the hump,
weight pushes the hump downwards with the force , since
the other end of the lever is hinged with the crank, thus the
crank is being rotated 1/8th time.
• The crank moves maximum distance
• The fly wheel which is connected to the crank, rotates itself 1.5
times crank.
• A spiral spring arrangement is axially connected with the shaft.
• When the hinged lever will move upward, the downward force
on the other lever will be released and the crank will be
separate itself from the fly wheel, which then allow the spiral
spring to unwind itself
• the shaft of fly wheel is coupled with the generator, the
unwinding spiral spring will rotate the generator shaft and
electricity will be generated
BLOCK DIAGRAM
Estimated total power Generation
• Small unit by small vehicle passage will generate 25kw
power minimum and we can have 4 gates at a toll.
• A unit by heavy vehicle passage will generate minimum
150kw power and we can have 4 gates at a toll.
• On an aggregate, if we have 8 gates; then the total
power generated from one site will be minimum
700kw.
• We must remember that this is the minimum
generation capacity; generation will increase
depending upon the vehicular movement and weight.
ADVANTAGES

 The project is economical and easy to install

 The project is eco-friendly

 Maintenance and installation cost are low

 This project can be implemented on road and

can be used to lighten the street lights
FUTURE SCOPE
 The shortage of light can be reduced at some
extant

 Wastage of energy can be minimized

 Flywheel can be used to increase the rotational

speed of the Dynamo shaft

 It may also be used for light vehicle also

CONCLUSION
 It is an non conventional type of producing
the energy
 It can be installed at highway toll gate .
Vehicle speed will be low, allowing the hump
to work appropriately and thus generate
electricity
 This project will be helpful to solve some of
the Electricity shortage problems
