Introduction:

• Social Marketing Company (SMC) is the largest privately managed


social marketing organization in the world for a single country. It is a
significant contributor to the reproductive and child health services in
Bangladesh. The on-going social marketing programs of SMC include
family planning, child health, disease prevention and maternal and
neonatal health.
Mission:

• A mission statement defines what an organization is, why it exists, its


reason for being. In partnership with the government, development
partners and the private sector, SMC’s overall mission is to improve
the health and wellbeing of women, children and families through
social marketing of products and services in family planning, maternal
and child health, nutrition, and other socially beneficial areas.
Vision:

• SMC’s vision is to be a world-class social enterprise recognized for its


contribution to the advancement of social marketing thoughts,
principles and practices that aim to better the health and wellbeing of
women, children, families and the society.
Analyze:
• One of the most successful organization today due to focusing on
their mission and vision.
• One of the most trusted company to general customers for their
heath products and price.
• They also create large scale of employment by offering different types
of free programs to non-graduates and graduates.
• Their created programs like Blue Star Program (BSP) or Private
Community Health Program (PCHP) or Pink Star Program (PSP)
provide enormous support to rural and eneducated people.
Conclusion:

• In line with its vision and mission, SMC has made an enormous
contribution in addressing the country’s goals and thereby protecting
the lives of numerous women and children through public health
products and services over many years. In its long journey from a
project to a thriving social business enterprise, SMC has now been
considered as the largest and most successful partner of the
Government of Bangladesh in the field of health and family planning.
