I Am A
Parallelogram

A parallelogram is a simple
quadrilateral with two pairs of
parallel sides
Properties of the Parallelogram

• Opposite sides are congruent (AB = DC).

• Opposite angels are congruent (D = B).
• Consecutive angles are supplementary (A + D = 180°).
Properties of Parallelogram
• Opposite sides are parallel
• The diagonals bisect each other.
• Any two adjacent angles of a parallelogram add up to 180°
Family of Parallelogram

A parallelogram does not have other names. Other

shapes, however, there are types of parallelograms
Formula for finding the area of a
parallelogram
To find the area of a parallelogram, multiply
the base by the height. The formula is: A=BH
Find the area of the parallelogram if the
base is 10cm and height is 7cm
FUN FACT
NB: Parallelograms and rectangles are pretty similar. In fact,
you can turn a parallelogram into a rectangle to find the
formula for the area of a parallelogram!
