INTRODUCTION

 This project describes a dual-module application that allows educational

content to be created for Mobile Computing environments.

 One of the modules of this application, allows for the creation of Exercise
Lists with Multiple Choice and True or False questions.

 The exercises solved through devices that use Wireless Communication to

access the World Wide Web
Problem Statement

In the field of education the method of Distance education plays a very

important role for the purpose of providing education through distance
and for this we don’t have any existing system which will help students to
get education in there own places they need to travel to the respected
university to take monthly test or they have to take the help of
conventional post system which have some disadvantages and in this
system there is interaction between student and teacher directly.
Solution:
For the above problem we are trying to solve by using computer
technology by constructing a system which provide a greater help for
the distance education in this system. we have two modules which are
Student module and teacher module these modules will support for
the communication between teacher and student through world wide
web or wireless communication media and also we try to provide the
evaluation system where student can get there results soon after
sending his answer paper to the teacher and also student can get the
reason for why there answers were consider wrong.
There are three modules of this
project

 Admin Module

 Teacher’s Module

 Student Module
Admin Module:

 Admin will maintain records of student’s trainers with all the respective
information.

 Admin will maintain all the database information.

Teacher’s Module:

 Teacher’s Module allow lists of exercises to be created with multiple choice

and true or false questions for posting on Web Servers.

 This module also provides individual and collective student performance

reports.
Student’s Module:

Student Module provides access to the lists of exercises and

allows them to be solved using palmtop computers.

The environment automatically provide correct answers for student

and generates an individual report on his/her performance in solving
the exercises from the lists.

OVERALL DESCRIPTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT

 The two parties interacting with the learning environment are the
Teacher and the Student.

 Teachers are identified by their names, by the subject they teach,

by the subject code and by the division for which they are
responsible.

 Students are identified by their student codes and their names.

Software Requirements

 Windows XP

 My SQL 5.0

 Jakarta-Tomcat 5.0.16

 J2ME wireless Toolkit

Hardware Requirements

 256 MB RAM

 minimum1GB hard disk space

CONCLUSION
o
The main objective is to allow for the creation of simple and intuitive lists
of exercises.
o
To enable students using mobile devices to access learning content
through a wireless connection
o The use of the J2ME technology renders the Student’s Module attractive
to users.
o The J2ME technology includes a good graphic user interface.
o Connection to remote Internet Web Servers, communication with Servlets
and manipulation of remote databases.
