TYPE 1 DIABETES
• usually diagnosed in children and young adults
• previously known as juvenile diabetes
• A condition in which the body does not
produce insulin
Type 1 diabetes signs and symptoms can
come on quickly and may include:
• Increased thirst.
• Frequent urination.
• Bedwetting in children who previously didn't wet
the bed during the night.
• Extreme hunger.
• Unintended weight loss.
• Irritability and other mood changes.
• Fatigue and weakness.
• Blurred vision.
IMMUNOLOGIC MECHANISM
IMMUNOLOGIC MECHANISM
SEROLOGIC TESTS FOR TYPE 1 DIABETES

Islet Cell Cytoplasmic Autoantibodies

• Diabetes-related (islet) autoantibody testing

• primarily used to help distinguish autoimmune
type 1 diabetes from diabetes due to other
causes
SEROLOGIC TESTS FOR TYPE 1 DIABETES
GAD Antibodies Test

• A Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase Autoantibodies test (GAD

antibodies test)
• used to help discover whether someone has either type 1
diabetes or Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adulthood
• A GAD test is a blood test which measures whether the body is
producing a type of antibody which destroys its own GAD cells.
• may be favoured as a way of testing for which type of diabetes
over a c-peptide test
• measures how much insulin is being produced by the body.
SEROLOGIC TESTS FOR TYPE 1 DIABETES

C-PEPTIDE

• this test measures how much C-peptide is in your

blood
• levels of this peptide generally match insulin
levels in the body
• the test can indicate how much insulin your body
is producing. Low levels of C-peptide and insulin
usually point to type 1 diabetes
SEROLOGIC TESTS FOR TYPE 1 DIABETES

Insulin Autoantibodies (IAA)

• to attacking beta cells

• the immune system in people with type 1
diabetes also targets insulin, says Laffel
• This tests looks for the antibodies targeting
insulin
AN UPDATE FOR TYPE 1 DM

The Vaccine Against Diabetes Has Been

Officially Announced
SEPTEMBER 7 2016
AN UPDATE FOR TYPE 1 DM
• The vaccine against diabetes promises to be the
solution for the advance of the illness and even
reversing its effects.
• Salvador Chacón Ramírez, president of the
Foundation “Vive your Diabetes,” and Lucila Zárate
Ortega, the president of the Mexican Association for
the Diagnosis and Treatment of Autoimmune
Diseases, had a press conference where they
explained that the vaccine cannot cure but there
was an advance in all the cases.
AN UPDATE FOR TYPE 1 DM
• auto-chemotherapy
• managed to standardize a saline solution for
any type of diabetes, whether it is 1, 2,
gestational or congenital
AN UPDATE FOR TYPE 1 DM
• About 5 cm of blood were extracted from each patient
• then they were injected with 55 milliliters of blood
solution.
• It is refrigerated at 5 degree celcius When the
temperature changes to 37 grades, since it goes out of
the body to a new temperature, a shock happens takes
place
• what was a problem turns into the solution inside the
bottle, in such a way that the genetic and metabolic
flaw is corrected or inmuno metabolised in the vaccine.
AN UPDATE FOR TYPE 1 DM
• The vaccine lasts for 60 days and the treatment
is about one year.
• This vaccine is much more than a medicine it is
a medical practice that has turned into an
alternative, a possible solution to stop the
complications that are chronically
degenerative: embolism, loss of ear;
amputation, renal insufficiency and blindness,
etc.
AN UPDATE FOR TYPE 1 DM
Zárate explained that the patients still have to
visit the doctors of the Mexican Association for
the Diagnosis and Treatment of Autoimmune
Diseases, because otherwise they may have
consequences.  ‘They need help. It is a
treatment, not a miracle. They must collaborate
with exercises, medicines, a diet and then begin
the auto-chemotherapy.’
