Lime
SAMPLE PROBLEM
Consider the burning of pure Calcium Carbonate with hydrogen-free
coke containing 83 % carbon, producing a gas of the composition 26.5
% CO2, 5.0 % O2, and 68.5 % N2. It is required to compute the ratio of
the lime produced to coke burnt, the percent excess air used in
combustion, and the amount of stock gas per ton of lime.
