QUESTIONS

MENSURATION
Mensuration

Mensuration is the skill of measuring the length of lines, areas of surfaces, and
volumes of solids from simple data of lines and angles.

Cylinder
Total Surface Area of Cylinder = 2πr ( r + h )
The Volume of a Cylinder = πr²h

Volume of Cube = a³
Concepts

Area of 4 side faces = 2 ( l × b ) +  2 ( b× h ) = 2 ( l × b ) × h

Total surface area of a cuboid = 2 ( l × b ) + ( l× h ) + ( b× h )

volume of cuboid (v) = l × b × h
length of the longest diagonal of a cuboid = √ (l² + b² + h²)

Area of a Trapezium =  h (a+b)/2

Area of Parallelogram= b×h

Concepts

Area of Rhombus = b×h (Using the base and height)

Area of Rhombus = (d1×d2)/2 (Using the length of the diagonals )

The formula for finding the perimeter is P = 4s , where ‘s‘ is the length of the side.

Curved Surface area of sphere = 4 Π r²

Volume of sphere = (4/3) Π r³

Curved Surface area of hemisphere = 2 Π r²

Total Surface area of hemisphere = 3Πr²
Volume of hemisphere = (2/3) Π r³
Concepts

Hollow hemisphere:
Curved Surface area = 2 Π (R² + r²)
Total Surface area = Π (3 R² + r²)
Volume = (2/3) Π (R³ - r³)

Cone
Curved Surface area = Π r L
Total surface area = Π r (L + r)
Volume = (1/3) Π r²h
Volume of frustum cone = (1/3) Π h
Concepts

Hollow cylinder:
Curved surface area = 2Π h (R+r)
Total surface area = 2 Π (R + r) (R - r + h)
Volume = Π h (R² - r²)
