o I helped handout awards at the finish line
and cheer on all the little runners as they

finished.
o I chose to so this because I ran this race
many times when I was in grade school so
not only did I want to give back to the
people that made that experience so
great for me when I was younger but it
was always great to have those people at
the finish line greeting you and cheering
you on so I am glad I was able to do that
for these kids.
o I saw Christ in the little runners who
would cheer on their teammates and
those who ran with the kids in last
cheering them on.

EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler

o I set-up and tore down a water station along with handing out water
and offering encouragement to the runners in the race.
4TH COFFEE

o I chose to do perform this service because I myself am a runner and I

know how hard those races can be and how much some
encouragement can mean and hopefully make you run a little faster.
o I encountered Christ during this service through the runners
themselves. Many of the people were laughing and cheering each
other on and having a really good time. Many would thank us for
working and what hit my the hardest were the many runners proudly
wearing stronger than hate shirts because it was not long after the
Squirrel Hill shooting.
o In doing this the runners got a boost of encouragement energy to keep
on running from our cheering and water that we provided and I felt like
I was helping my community of runners and I really enjoyed talking to
the runners as they passed.

o I was a group leader and led kids in games, activities, and

songs to help them get to know Christ and ultimately
keeping them safe.

o I chose to do this because it seemed like a great

opportunity to get involved in my parish.

o I saw Christ in the others working especially through the

leaders who had not so well behaved kids with their
patience and also through the kids as throughout the week
I got to see them be more open to learning about Christ.

o Without the help of the many volunteers, their would have

been no vacation bible camp so I am grad I was able to
participate. Through this camp the kids got to have fun
and learn about Jesus and how he is always there for them.

o I got to get to know all the kids in my parish and see them
become more and more excited to come to camp everyday.

• I either checked and oversaw all of the orders coming in and out of the kitchen
along with dressing the plates of food before being sent out to the people.
• I chose to do this because I have been working the fish fry for many years and I
enjoy seeing everyone in my parish and helping my church.
• I encountered Christ through the other workers patience with customers and the
customers themselves that gave high praises to the staff.

Saint Kilian Parish • If it wasn’t for great organization and many volunteers the fish fry would not be
Fish Fry possible and I am glad I was able to contribute to a tradition that has been going
on for many years. The people at the fish fry gain a great community of people
serving them and hopefully a good meal too.
