Word + Word = Phrase
Word + Word (with specific message) = Clause
Word + Word (with complete message) = Sentence

Sentence is an organization of words.


Why?
It organize the words into meaningful message.

Clause is part of sentence.
CLAUSE

Main Subordinate

A sentence can be consist of only a clause.


Sometimes, it consists of more than a clause.
Let’s take a look
Simple sentence only has a clause.
I eat meatball.  one sentence, one clause.

Compound and/or complex sentence has more


than a clause. It can be 2 or 3 clauses.
I eat meatball that is made by my mom.
 How many clauses can you see?

1. I eat meatball.
2. The meatball is made by my mom.

There are two (2) clauses.


Compound Sentence
Compound Sentence has two clauses.
1.I ate meatball; she watched me.
2.I drank a glass of water and she ate a plate of
spaghetti.
3.I saw the movie, then I bought the ticket.
4.You are beautiful, but also you are arrogant.
