The Committee
 There will be anywhere from 1-3 students assigned to a
single committee
 The committee will be comprised of a Chair selected
from the faculty of the ECSE or K-12 programs
 The committee members invited by the student
candidates
 Other community or college faculty as needed

 You are asked to invite one person to sit on your
committee
 This individual should be someone who is familiar with
your teaching or has worked with you in a professional
or work capacity
 This person may not be a relative, friend, or a graduated
peer room,

Dress & Grooming
 Student presenters should be professional in appearance
and grooming
 Business professional or Sunday attire is expected
 Appropriate grooming including neat hair and clean
hygiene is anticipated

 This is not a time for professional classroom dress
 Students who do not meet these standards will be asked
to go home to change or fix what is needed
 Keep in mind this is a time to look and smell your best

be used by the committee to help them make their
decision

candidate to study in preparation for the Question &
Answer session of the presentation
 Additional questions may be asked that are not on the list

The student candidate will present for 15 minutes
There will then be a 10 minute question and answer
session with the committee
The candidate will then be asked to step outside and
wait while the committee discusses the candidate’s
presentation and Q&A.

The student candidate will be invited back in into the
room and the committee will share feedback from their
discussion
A recommendation will be made regarding readiness
for student teaching

 Possible outcomes
 Recommended
 Recommended with reservations and remediation plan
 Not recommended due to presentation, however
allowed to represent if desired
 Notrecommended and invited to stay for an additional
semester to remediate and present again the next
semester
 Notrecommended and invited to change majors to
University Studies degree
