Step Time Tasks (Teacher)
Lead-in 5’ The teacher comes to the classroom,
greets the students and asks how they
are. The teacher introduces the day’s
topic.
10’ Teacher asks if they know any species
that are on the verge of extinction.
Elicitation Teacher talks about the topic and
explains the importance of the balance
of life. Teacher asks some questions to
students about the life on earth.
Explanation/ 10’ The teacher shows the target subjects
Presentation and asks the students whether they
recognize it. Then the teacher goes on
to explain the subjects.
Practice 10’ Teacher makes students watch a video
about the polar bears and why they
are on the verge of extinction. Then
the teacher asks the students to write
sentences using should and shouldn’t.
Teacher then reflects on these
sentences.
Closure 5’ The teacher concludes the target
writing and grammar for this lesson,
assign homework for students.

labeled as Appendix A, Appendix B, Appendix C, etc.
 Also, do not forget to copy the electronic copy of your lesson plan, micro-
teaching, and any other audio-visual material as you will upload your LP
materials to METU CLASS.
 The electronic copy of your LP should be in one word file which also
includes all the PPP slides, texts, exercises, and answer keys. Other
multimedia appendices (audios, videos) can be copied separately to
Odtuclass; however, you should refer them in the Appendices pages in
the LP as well.
