What is Proverb?

A succinct and pithy saying in general use, expressing

commonly held ideas and beliefs. Proverbs are part of every 
spoken language and are related to such other forms of 
folk literature as riddles and fables that have originated in oral
tradition under different cultural conditions and languages.

 In my life, I have so many things to
be thankful of (a) to our ancestors, the
early foragers, way back millions of
years ago, who had sacrificed themselves
just to find what food is edible and what
is poisonous. In order that we, today,
should not have to bother to try and
experiment for ourselves what’s best for
us.
The experiences of our forefathers
and foremothers is like a mirror for us. In
order that we might be “wise” what to do
and not to do in the future. As George
Santayana have said, “Those who cannot
remember the past are condemned to
repeat it.”

improve, revise and reject.
Unto us 21st century students, we
owe a lot from those who paved the way
to Enlightenment and modernity from
Copernicus, Bruno, Darwin to Einstein
and even Sagan.
As Lawrence Krauss boldly states in
his book titled The Greatest Story ever
told…so far: “Five Hundred years of
science have liberated humanity from the
shackles of enforced ignorance.”
Though in their time they were
mocked, but we have come to realize that
they were true all along. Today, it’s hard
to imagine that the sun revolves around
us and in fact, back then, they believe it
to be so. And in this very idea Giordano
Bruno has be exiled, mocked and hanged
because of his outlandish observation.
